Guidelines for Application to Faculty Positions


Minimum Requirements

Applicants should be able to teach in the core areas of the program to which they have applied. In addition, applicants must be able to offer specialist elective courses in the undergraduate programs. Applicants should also be willing to contribute to postgraduate and research programs being developed at the METU Northern Cyprus Campus, and to actively engage in research and publication.

Except the School of Foreign Languages staff, applicants are required to have been awarded a PhD or have submitted their PhD for examination.

Fluency in English language is essential (English being the language of instruction at all levels at METU).


Application circulation

Please be aware that your CV and covering letter will be lodged with the programme coordinator for consultation with programme academic staff who may not be members of the selection committee but whose specific guidance and advice might be useful. In addition, if you are invited to give a presentation, your CV and covering letter will be available to all members of staff attending the presentation. However it will not be made available to anyone else.

  • We will be able to consider you for the vacancies announced only if you submit your application on-line. An application sent via e-mail or surface mail will not be considered.
  • Your CV must be in doc, docx or pdf format and labeled as ‘CV–YOURFULLNAME’, ready for uploading before you start your application process.
  • Provide the information requested only.  Supplementary documents should include a cover letter, a photo is optional. Please keep the supplementary documents at a minimum. Copies of qualifications, certificates, letters of reference, and other additional documents are not required at this stage.
